Facebook Now Allows You to Customize Your News Feed

Facebook now allows you to customize your news feed! Starting today, iPhone and iPad users will be able to choose which friends’ and brands’ updates they want to “see first” on the their feed.

Here’s how:

The new feature is located in the “News Feed Preferences” tab which can be found in the “more” section of the Facebook app. This tab now consists of four sections including: prioritizing who to see first, unfollowing people to hide their posts, reconnecting with people you unfollowed, and discovering new pages.

Choose “prioritize who to see first,” and you will be able to select which pages and people you always want to see at the top of your News Feed. You can select up to 30 accounts whose newest updates will always appear first in your feed. Posts from accounts that have been prioritized will also include a star to remind you that you have opted-in to seeing more of their posts.

If you choose not to customize these settings, you will not see any changes applied to your feed.

As for Android and desktop users – you will eventually see this new feature roll out to you guys over the next several weeks. Until then, just keep strong deflecting those Buzzfeed articles, and baby pictures of your roomate’s, cousin’s, best friend’s, sister.

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, on Facebook’s Custom News Feed Feature:

“We just launched new tools to give you more control over what you see in your News Feed. Now you’ll be able to easily choose the friends and pages you want to see at the top of your News Feed, and coming soon you can discover new pages to connect to.

Our goal is to help you connect with the people and things you care about the most, and this is another step in that direction.”
